SS11 - Assignment # 8

Martin Luther King


       “ I have a dream, that one day…” People often feel familiar with this famous sentence when they hear it. It’s come from a famous speech of an American pastor, activist, humanitarian and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement, who called Martin Luther King. He is known as progressing the civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. King helped to organize the 1963 March that attracted more than 250,000 protestors, where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. He envisioned a world where people were no longer divided by race. The reason of choosing King is because he is famous in advocating for nonviolent social change in American history and he also make great contribution in the the nonviolent civil disobedience. Martin Luther King’s African-American Civil Right Movement helped America to reduce the discrimination on race, which makes many African-American can live equitably and feel free to live in America now.
